Stopping the Bullying Cycle
So... why do people bully? Is it because they're nasty people? And is it only kids? Or maybe it something that can happen to any person, at any age. The point of this post is to make you're wheels spin a bit.
What it's really about is being unkind and hurting other people. But, what most don't consider is most bullies hurt because they are hurting. Sometimes because they've went through something hard and painful ... sometimes that hard and painful thing is constant. Maybe they just need time to cool off from something, and won't always take their stress out on other people.
Stress happens to all of us. We all have times we get mad and nasty. Kids and adults alike. So think... are you being a bully? Maybe? Yes? No? If you know that you are bullying someone then STOP. No matter what you're going through, being mean to others fix it. This goes for grown-ups too.
Then there's people who feel awkward and pick on others to make themselves look cool. It's never funny to pick on others, and it'll come back to bite you. It's hurtful, mean and, cruel. Take a minute, put yourself in the other person's place. Imagine you can feel their feelings.
I've been bullied. It was solved and I am no longer bullied. Lucky for me a teacher saw what was happening and she stopped it from happening. If your being bullied then you need to tell someone and not let it get to you. And it never hurts to stand up for yourself.
One time when I was still being bullied, my friends and I decided we were fed up. The bully and his friends were coming over to "beat us up" we twisted that plot by showing no fear, telling them to stop being ridiculous and going to tell a teacher. The look of shock on their faces when everyone took our side and we went to the teachers with a WHOLE BUNCH of witnesses was priceless.
Bringing me to my last point ... if you see someone being bullied, take a stand with and for them. Start a movement. Other people will start doing the same. So whenever someone is being bullied or some one is being mean .... you or another person seeing it will stop the cycle. And besides all the above tips ... you can always just yell at them in German. :D
